Prospect Street Firehouse (1944-2017)
The Nanuet Fire Department's main headquarters was perviously located at 7 West Prospect Street in Nanuet, New York. The original portion of the building was constructed between 1944 - 1946 and had only 2 bays. For many years, the entire Nanuet Fire Department operated out of this building. In 1965 the first of many additions was put onto this firehouse. A wide 3-truck section was added to the west side of the building, followed a few years later in 1969 by a final large bay designed for Nanuet's first ladder truck (8-75). In 1978 the adjacent post office building was taken over and in the early 1990s converted into a final bay.
