Fire & Safety Services has been in business since 1964, and has been the exclusive Pierce sales and service representative for the entire state of New Jersey since 1977.
Due to some unresolvable differences between Hillcrest FD and Tyler Fire Equipment in early 2001, Pierce granted special permission for Hillcrest to instead use Fire & Safety Services for the purchase of 6-Tower. This arrangement was renewed by Pierce in 2005 for the purchase of 6-Rescue. In 2009, Pierce terminated Tyler's contract and expanded Firematic Supply's territory to include Rockland County. From 2010 onward, all Pierce apparatus (including Hillcrest) delivered in Rockland County has been by Firematic.
